5280 Literacy Symposium: The Full Literacy Equation: Reading, Writing, and the Mind at Work, May 30, 2026
When:Saturday, May 30, 2026 9am-4pm
Where: 1200 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203
Vertical Skills Academy is proud to support the 3rd annual 5280 Literacy Symposium, a full-day, in-person event dedicated to advancing evidence-aligned literacy instruction across Colorado, hosted by The Reading League Colorado.
This year’s theme, The Full Literacy Equation: Reading, Writing, and the Mind at Work, explores how the science of reading and writing are inseparable. Executive functioning bridges the two—helping students plan, organize, and communicate their ideas. Supporting the full literacy brain means addressing all three. This symposium is designed to inspire and equip educators, school leaders, and advocates with practical tools, research-aligned strategies, and real-world examples to strengthen literacy instruction across systems.
