Vertical Skills Academy will be presenting and exhibiting at this conference, which is presented by the Rocky Mountain Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. Stop by our booth and talk with us about VSA’s intervention school, tutoring, and reading programs. Our head of school, Amy, will be presenting on the thinkSRSD teaching framework. SRSD (Self-Regulated Strategy Development) is an evidence-based instructional approach that helps students become confident, organized, and effective writers.
About the conference: Reading in the Rockies provides a time and place for teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and other professionals to learn, collaborate, and relax. Speakers address relevant, essential and distinctive topics to build your capacity to support student success, improve your teaching skills, expand your thinking and continue to cultivate your knowledge with practical application strategies. When: TBD
Where: Vertical Skills Academy, 4000 S. Wadsworth Blvd, Littleton, CO
*Dyslexia Simulation: This free, 2-hour simulation exercise is open to teachers, parents, and other community members interested in better understanding what your students and/or children are experiencing. Participants will work through 5 tasks that simulate what it is like to have dyslexia/dysgraphia, as well as learn about dyslexia. We recommend participants be 11+ years old without dyslexia (however, students with dyslexia may attend in order to support the education of their loved ones). Childcare will be available. RSVP is required so we can prepare materials for all participants. RSVP to admin@VerticalSkillsAcademy.org.
Thank you to our Sponsors of Rockin’ Dyslexia! We appreciate their support and generosity for students with dyslexia! Look here for next year’s date!
