At Vertical Skills Academy, you’ll be part of a close-knit community of educators who are passionate about helping students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences thrive. We believe our students do their best when they are known, understood, challenged, and supported—and we look for educators who share that belief.

Working at VSA means being part of a collaborative team that values each person’s strengths, ideas, and expertise. Because our student population changes in age, ability, and individual needs each year, our teachers are adaptable, creative, and willing to step in wherever they are needed. In return, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues who support one another and share a genuine commitment to our students.

Our teachers enjoy:

  • Small class sizes: 8–10 students in core classes and up to 15 students in Science and Technology
  • Protected planning time: a 55-minute planning period each day
  • Generous lunch time: an hour-long lunch three times a week
  • A highly collaborative environment: teachers share ideas, resources, strategies, and support
  • Individualized coaching: opportunities to work with the Head of School in an area you would like to develop
  • Professional development: ongoing opportunities throughout the year, including conferences and specialized training
  • A supportive school culture: we work hard for our students, celebrate one another, and make time to have fun along the way!

At VSA, you won’t be just another teacher—you’ll be an important member of a small, dedicated team where your ideas, talents, and relationships with students truly make a difference.

Currently, we are not hiring. However, if you are an educator who is passionate about dyslexia education and would like to be considered for future opportunities, please send your resume to the Head of School at admin@verticalskillsacademy.org. We would be happy to keep your information on file and contact you should a position become available.
