As an employee at Vertical Skills Academy, you are part of a unique community of educators who, through collaboration and high expectations for one another, commit their time and talents to the uniquely different group of students we serve each year. With an understanding that our student body significantly changes in terms of ages and abilities each year, you must be adaptable and willing to meet the needs of students across multiple grades and skill levels. The needs of students may change over the course of the school year and staff must be willing to adapt their roles, daily schedules, and responsibilities to those changing needs.
Staff at VSA are able to enjoy small class sizes, 8 students during core classes and 15 during Science/Technology, as well as a collaborative community. Teacher planning time is honored throughout the week and no additional committees or outside meetings are required beyond conferences three times a year. Teachers have a 55 minute planning period daily, and an hour lunch 3 times a week. Our staff works as a collaborative unit and supports each other in all endeavors both professionally and personally. Coaching is provided by the Head of School in an area that the staff member would like to grow. Professional Development is provided throughout the year including Reading in the Rockies, Reading in the City, and Math PD for the math teacher. We like to have fun while working hard for our students!
Currently, we are not hiring. Please feel free to send a resume to the head of school at admin@verticalskillsacademy.org if you are interested in being contacted should a position arise.
